Aero Performance Lab welcomes top Belgian triathlete Jolien Vermeylen as a new performance athlete heading towards the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games. In collaboration with Belgian Cycling Factory and Ridley, Vermeylen will utilize the expertise, infrastructure, and testing capabilities of the Aero Performance Lab over the coming years to further optimize her preparation for the highest international level.

Top European triathlete with Olympic ambition
Jolien Vermeylen is currently among the absolute elite of European triathlon. In 2025, she won both the European sprint title in Melilla and the European title over the Olympic distance in Istanbul. With this, she confirmed her status as one of the most promising triathletes of the moment.
On June 13, 2026, Vermeylen will defend her European title in the Olympic distance at the European Championships in Tarragona.
Testing and optimization towards LA28
In her journey towards the Los Angeles Olympic Games, Jolien Vermeylen will make extensive use of the facilities within the Aero Performance Lab. The focus here is on maximizing performance through an integrated approach of testing, analysis, and innovation.
Specifically, Vermeylen will make use of, among other things:
Wind tunnel testing for aerodynamic optimization
The heat chamber for acclimatization and preparation for hot conditions
The altitude chamber for specific altitude training
Innovative test methods and performance analysis
By bringing together various disciplines within a single environment, Aero Performance Lab aims to support athletes in utilizing all possible marginal gains.
More than just material
In addition to performance support from Aero Performance Lab, Jolien Vermeylen will also ride the Ridley Noah Fast, one of the fastest aero road bikes in the international triathlon and cycling circuit.
According to Kenneth Vandendriessche, Brand & Sales Manager Triathlon at Belgian Cycling Factory, it is precisely that combination that offers significant added value:
Within Belgian Cycling Factory, we can support Jolien with a comprehensive package: top-tier equipment from Ridley, combined with the expertise and infrastructure of the Aero Performance Lab. It is precisely this combination that should ensure we continue to seek further optimization in all areas.
Jolien Vermeylen is also enthusiastic about the collaboration:
For me, it is a great advantage that I can not only rely on top-tier equipment like the Ridley Noah Fast, but also make use of everything the Aero Performance Lab has to offer. At this level, details make the difference.
Bringing technology and elite sports together
With the collaboration with Jolien Vermeylen, Aero Performance Lab confirms its ambition to be a reference in performance testing and sports innovation. By bringing together technology, expertise, and practical experience, the lab aims to support athletes in their preparation for the highest international level.
The collaboration was officially announced during the Triathlon Performance Day on May 16, 2026, where Jolien Vermeylen also participated in a live wind tunnel session as a practical case study for the triathletes present.
