Last weekend, Roos Vanotterdijk claimed silver at the World Championships in Singapore in the 100m butterfly. Her time of 55.84 set a new Belgian record and earned her a first-ever world medal. She followed up with bronze in the 50m butterfly, becoming the first Belgian swimmer ever to win two medals at a single World Championship.

Earlier this year, Roos visited Aero Performance Lab for a bikefit. While her main focus is swimming, she uses cycling as a valuable cross-training tool. It allows her to build endurance with less strain on her body compared to running.
We optimised her position during the bikefit to ensure maximum comfort and efficiency. This allowed her to train for longer periods without pain, helping her enter the swim season fitter and stronger.
At Aero Performance Lab, we support athletes across disciplines with tailored performance solutions. We believe smart preparation goes beyond just one sport. Varying training load and injury prevention are essential for long-term results.
Roos’ use of cycling as a training complement fits perfectly within that vision. Her silver and bronze medals are proof that a thoughtful, versatile approach pays off. We’ll continue to support Roos where needed and wish her success in her upcoming preparations and competitions.
