On Thursday, April 17, the first edition of the Aero Performance Day took place at the Aero Performance Lab @Bike Valley in Beringen. This inspiring and content-rich day was entirely dedicated to aerodynamic optimization and athletic performance enhancement – with a special focus on cycling.
Thanks to our in-house wind tunnel and specialized performance services, the Aero Performance Lab has everything it takes to optimally support (elite) athletes, coaches, and sports professionals in their pursuit of maximum efficiency. The Aero Performance Day was a unique opportunity to experience this expertise firsthand.

With Rik Verbrugghe – known for his record-breaking time trial in the 2001 Giro – as host, the event immediately struck the right tone. Our aero engineer Daan Teugels opened the day with a presentation on the recent innovations to the wind tunnel.
Throughout the day, attendees participated in a series of expert-led sessions, including:
Ine De Bot & Loes Stessens (Human Health/Biomedical Engineer, KU Leuven)
Lieselot Decroix (Performance Coach, FDJ Suez)
Loïc Segaert (Coach, Bahrain Victorious)
Kevin Caen (Exercise Physiologist, Ghent University)
Koen De Haan (Exercise Physiologist, Team NL)
Raphael Faiss (University of Lausanne)
The program was seamlessly moderated by Maarten Vangramberen, ensuring a smooth flow throughout the event.
The event drew considerable interest from the professional cycling world. Attendees expressed great enthusiasm about the event’s added value and used the opportunity to network extensively. The positive feedback confirms the need for such knowledge-sharing moments in the industry.
Rik Verbrugghe has already announced that a second edition of the Aero Performance Day is planned for this autumn.
