Second place in a strong Tour Alsace

The Tour Alsace, a five-day stage race through the French hills, has been a fixture on the calendar for promising riders and development teams for years. Kamiel Eeman (Lotto Development Team) rode remarkably controlled, ultimately finishing just 23 seconds behind overall winner Markel Beloki (EF Education - Easypost).

Remarkably, in the team time trial, he and his team lost virtually no time compared to their competitors. Thanks in part to an efficient time trial position, optimized in our wind tunnel, he maintained a strong lead in the general classification.

Effort test, climate chamber and wind tunnel

Before the season, Kamiel visited the Aero Performance Lab for a series of targeted tests. He completed a comprehensive effort test to pinpoint his training zones and thresholds. He also trained in our climate-controlled room to acclimate his body to the heat and altitude, conditions often encountered in stage races like this.

Finally, he completed a wind tunnel test on his time trial bike. We analyzed his aerodynamic position on his time trial bike and optimized small details that can make all the difference in a team time trial.

Small optimizations, big impact

The combination of data, analysis, and targeted adjustments helped Kamiel refine his training and prepare himself better for the start. The result: five days of focused riding, without any setbacks, minimal time losses, and a fantastic podium finish.

Targeted guidance

At Aero Performance Lab, we believe in personalized, individualized coaching. Kamiel sought specific insights into his time trial position, physical demands, and heat adaptation – and translated those insights perfectly into his racing practice.
